Made+, a sustainable footwear manufacturer, has announced its first ambassador, pickleball star Tara Bernstein, as part of a strategy to boost its presence in the growing pickleball community.

Made+, a U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in sustainable performance footwear, has announced its partnership with pickleball athlete Tara Bernstein, who will serve as the brand’s first ambassador. Bernstein, recognized not only for her athletic prowess but also as a fashion icon and influencer, is a dedicated fan of the company’s bangr pickleball shoe. This collaboration aims to enhance made+’s presence in the rapidly growing pickleball community.

In a statement about her new role, Bernstein expressed her enthusiasm for pickleball, describing it as “an essential part of my life,” and highlighting the sport’s ability to foster community among players of all ages and skill levels. She emphasized the importance of sustainability and style in her footwear choices, stating, “I can’t get enough of playing in made+ shoes—they’re a total game-changer for players like me who love to accessorize on and off the court.”

Made+ was founded in 2021 by Alan Guyan, a former innovator at Under Armour. The company focuses on producing sustainably made-to-order shoes, with the bangr being its first pickleball-specific model. This shoe is designed for both indoor and outdoor use and is made from six upcycled plastic water bottles, promoting environmental responsibility by reducing excess material waste.

Guyan remarked on the partnership’s significance, stating, “Tara embodies everything our brand stands for—performance, sustainability, and innovation.” He noted that Bernstein’s influence will help the brand reach a wider audience and encourage players to consider sustainable footwear options.

The bangr shoe features several performance-enhancing elements, including a flexible rubber outsole for improved court feel, extended toe overlays for durability, and a cupping insole for better stability. Players can choose from a variety of color combinations or use the custom engine to create personalized designs that reflect their individual styles.

Made+ offers its footwear collections through its website, and new customers can enjoy a 10 percent discount through a special promotion in honor of the partnership. The company is headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland and is committed to redefining the footwear manufacturing process with a focus on sustainability and quality craftsmanship.
