Mumbai: Fashion icon Malaika Arora has made waves with her striking sari choices, emphasising elegance and affordability. Her latest ensembles blend classic charm with modern aesthetics, offering inspiration for both formal and casual occasions while promoting stylish and budget-friendly options for fashion enthusiasts.

Malaika Arora has recently made a notable fashion statement in Mumbai, highlighting the timeless appeal of the sari while ensuring budget-friendly options remain accessible for those keen to embrace this classic look. With a style reminiscent of the romantic ’90s Bollywood era, particularly the iconic songs shot against the backdrop of Switzerland’s snow-capped mountains, Arora’s choice to wear a red sari this season shifts attention from the conventional little red dress (LRD).

Arora was seen wearing a satin silk sari, paired with a modest cap-sleeved blouse. The ensemble eschewed embellishments, showcasing a minimalist aesthetic that emphasised elegance and sophistication. As noted by Vogue India, her stylist Aastha Sharma curated the outfit to be suitable for both formal occasions like a glamorous sangeet soirée and intimate daytime ceremonies. Key to the look were the ornate jewellery pieces—specifically, a kundan gulband-style choker set with gemstones and polki, and a stack of kadas, which contributed a touch of classic charm while remaining stylish and contemporary.

Among her various sartorial choices, the standout was a red pre-stitched sari from Amit Aggarwal’s ‘Lumen’ collection, initially worn at a star-studded post-wedding party in Mumbai. This particular outfit was crafted from satin and organza, featuring a sleeveless polymer moulded blouse. It was distinguished by an embroidered pallu, made of pleated chiffon and adorned with tape and glass beads shaped like a haleconia flower, thus blending tradition with modernity.

In addition, Arora showcased another stunning look during a television appearance. She donned a pre-draped creation from 431-88 by Shweta Kapur, which was made from textured satin and featured the innovative sari-gown silhouette. This ensemble was accentuated with a statement-making fringed pallu and a RiRi blouse, embellished with hand embroidery and sheer sequins, appealing to those looking for inspiration for wedding attire.

Through her latest fashion choices, Malaika Arora not only exemplifies how to effectively balance retro charm with modern sensibilities but also opens the door to stylish bargains and second-hand shopping tips. The emphasis on classic designs and thoughtful accessorising illustrates that high style can indeed be achieved without a hefty price tag, making timeless fashion accessible to a wider audience.
