MAS Holdings is set to establish a state-of-the-art apparel park in Odisha, aiming to generate over 10,000 jobs and strengthen India’s position in the global apparel market.

MAS Holdings is embarking on an ambitious expansion in India with the establishment of a state-of-the-art apparel park, which is set to be located at Bhuinpur in the Khurda district of Odisha. The project is slated to start operations in 2026 and is expected to mark a significant milestone in MAS’s 25-year engagement with the Indian market. Backed by the proactive support of the Odisha government, this initiative aims to position the region as one of the world’s fastest-growing apparel hubs while creating substantial local employment and fortifying the regional supply chain.

The company, known as South Asia’s leading apparel manufacturer, has a track record of success that the leadership aims to leverage further amid India’s dynamic apparel and textile sector. The groundbreaking ceremony for the MAS Apparel Park was attended by notable figures, including senior officials from MAS Holdings, representatives from the Odisha state government, and partners from Toray Industries. This event not only signified the strategic importance of the project but also highlighted the collaboration between government and corporate entities.

The MAS Apparel Park will span 60 acres and is envisioned as an integrated manufacturing hub. It is designed to emulate the success of MAS’s previous apparel parks in Sri Lanka by bringing together various industry partners under one roof. This collaborative approach is anticipated to streamline the supply chain and provide brands with significant advantages in terms of speed and cost efficiency. The initial production unit will focus on high-value apparel meant for both domestic and international markets, setting the foundation for this expansive venture.

In terms of economic impact, the establishment of the MAS Apparel Park is expected to generate over 10,000 jobs and attract cumulative investments surpassing USD 140 million over the next decade. Such developments are projected to not only reinforce India’s position as a global leader in apparel production but also contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth throughout the region.

Malik Ahamadeen, CEO of MAS India, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating the company’s commitment to building a vibrant apparel ecosystem in collaboration with the Odisha government. “Our objective is to advance the textile sector while generating employment and contributing to the region’s economic prosperity,” he said. Suren Fernando, Group CEO of MAS Holdings, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the strategic significance of the investment by noting, “With 25 years of experience operating in India, we recognize the immense potential of the country’s manufacturing landscape, which supports both global supply chains and the rapidly growing domestic retail market.”

The groundbreaking of MAS Apparel Park in Odisha is viewed as a pivotal moment for both MAS Holdings and the Indian apparel industry. With an integrated manufacturing hub that harnesses advanced technology and strategic partnerships, MAS is positioned to drive substantial economic growth and innovation in the coming years. As preparations move forward for the commencement of operations in 2026, this initiative promises to enhance MAS’s regional presence while playing a vital role in shaping the future of India’s vibrant apparel and textile sector.
