Hago House’s fashion brand Matnkim reports remarkable sales growth through KakaoTalk, driven by live broadcasts for holidays and a strong female customer base.

Hago House reported a significant surge in sales for its fashion brand Matnkim, specifically through the KakaoTalk gifting platform. On the 12th, it was revealed that sales via this channel had skyrocketed by 450% year-on-year as of last month. In addition, compared to January, there was an approximate 23% increase. The most favored items among Matnkim’s offerings on KakaoTalk were wallets, representing 32% of total sales, with bags and hats closely behind, accounting for 30% and 28%, respectively.

The boost in sales can also be linked to recent live broadcasts conducted for Valentine’s Day and White Day. These interactive sessions allowed Matnkim to engage with customers in real-time, showcasing the unique features of their products. This promotional strategy led to a notable uptick in orders for popular items like the “cap collection” and the “accordion wallet.”

Demographics of the customer base purchasing Matnkim products through KakaoTalk gifting indicate that 81% were women, with a substantial majority of them in their 20s (64%) and 30s (25%). In response to the increasing popularity of mobile shopping among younger consumers, Matnkim intends to expand its gifting lineup further.

A representative from Matnkim commented on the positive developments, saying, “Since entering KakaoTalk gifting, many customers have found it easier to gift Matnkim items, which has broadened our customer touchpoints and led to explosive sales growth as a trending brand. We will continue to expand our lineup through various channels so that more customers can convey their precious feelings with Matnkim products.”
