Maya Mariell’s new collection celebrates female unity and the artistry of traditional craftsmen, blending inspirations from India and Norway.

Maya Mariell has officially launched its Spring-Summer 2025 collection named “Kaleidoscope,” which emphasizes the brand’s commitment to celebrating female unity and the intricacies of women’s stories from around the globe. Founded by Maya Nora Sirohi and Mariell Lødøen Stene, the collection draws inspiration from their travels between India and Norway, specifically highlighting the artistry of the Karigars, traditional craftsmen and garment makers based in South Delhi.

The launch included insights from Faye Sheela Sirohi, Maya’s sister and the Head of Communications for the brand. In a personal letter titled “Kaleidoscope of Life,” Faye communicated the essence of their mission as storytellers, using design, color, texture, and shapes to narrate these women’s experiences. “This email is for the you who just started their day and is already tired,” she begins, inviting readers to take a moment to reflect and imagine the world through their unique perspectives.

The collection features garments that showcase intricate embroidery crafted by the Karigars using zero-net fabric, adorned with bronze beads, pipe beads, and glass stones. These pieces are designed as a tribute to timeless beauty that resonates with the vibrant colors found in India’s markets and the serene hues of Scandinavian winters, aiming to reflect the modern woman’s essence.

“Our journey over the last year took us through various markets across India, where we sought the best fabrics for KALEIDOSCOPE,” Maya stated in the collection introduction. The experience highlighted the importance of collaborating closely with local artisans and developing an understanding of their craft, ensuring that traditional techniques are interwoven with modern fashion to create distinctive pieces.

Maya Mariell emphasizes the importance of individual expression through their fashion, producing items not for the collective but for the individual wearers. The essence of Kaleidoscope lies in its ability to reflect personal stories, showing how each woman adds her unique hue to the world.
