New York City: The couple turned heads on the red carpet at the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special, showcasing their unique styles and a glimpse into their relationship dynamics, amidst a star-studded event celebrating the iconic show’s legacy.

Miley Cyrus and her long-time boyfriend Maxx Morando made a notable appearance on the red carpet at the SNL50: The Anniversary Special held in New York City on Sunday night. The event, celebrating the 50 years of the iconic sketch show Saturday Night Live, attracted numerous stars and fans alike.

Cyrus, 32, known for her chart-topping hits such as “Party in the USA,” donned an eye-catching single-sleeve black wrap dress that drew inspiration from a traditional suit blazer. The outfit showcased her collection of small tattoos on her exposed arm, complementing her glamorous look. Maxx Morando, 26, sported his characteristic rockstar aesthetic, complete with disheveled hair and square-shaped glossy black sunglasses.

Accompanying the couple was Miley’s mother, Tish Cyrus, aged 57, further highlighting the family aspect of the evening. The couple’s red carpet outing follows their appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards earlier this month, marking a rare public display of their relationship which has been relatively private since they began dating in late 2021.

In a previous interview with Harper’s Bazaar in November 2024, Cyrus spoke about their relationship dynamics, particularly their six-year age gap. “He looks at life really differently than I do,” she remarked, comparing their upbringings. While she shared a desktop computer with her siblings, Morando grew up with more modern devices, like a laptop. Reflecting on their shared pet, Cyrus laughed, saying, “Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit,” revealing the contrast in their approaches to pet care.

Despite these differences, Cyrus affirmed their compatibility: “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously,” further illustrating their bond.

The SNL50 event, which attracted stars including Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, and Kristen Wiig, follows a prior event, the 50th Anniversary Homecoming Concert held on the preceding Friday. That concert featured performances from notable acts such as Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, and Bad Bunny, among others. Performances were livestreamed on Peacock, and fans had the opportunity to attend screenings at IMAX theatres across the country.
