New York City’s iconic eyewear brand Moscot marks its 110th anniversary with the release of the Lemtosh 110 Crystal/Gold, a limited edition frame that honors the company’s rich legacy and artisanal craftsmanship.
New York City’s heritage eyewear brand MOSCOT is marking a significant milestone with the introduction of the LEMTOSH 110 Crystal/Gold, a special edition frame released to commemorate the company’s 110th anniversary. Founded in 1899 by Hyman Moscot, a young immigrant who arrived at Ellis Island, MOSCOT has remained a family-owned and operated business spanning five generations, celebrated for its timeless designs and artisanal craftsmanship.
The LEMTOSH 110 Crystal/Gold edition features intricately woven gold wiring throughout the frame, paying tribute to the pioneering spirit and determination of Hyman Moscot. The frame’s temples bear a custom gold plaque discreetly etched with the number “110,” symbolizing the brand’s milestone year. Complementing the gold accents are MOSCOT’s signature custom tints in warm amber and chestnut fade, enhancing the luxurious aesthetic of the piece.
For the first time, this anniversary edition is offered in three sizes, broadening its accessibility to a global audience. Each purchase of the LEMTOSH 110 Crystal/Gold includes exclusive accessories: a 110-branded tote bag, soft chamois cloth, and a zip case. These items serve to enrich the unboxing experience and emphasize the brand’s dedication to quality.
Since its humble beginnings operating from a pushcart on Orchard Street in New York City, MOSCOT has expanded into a global presence with more than 30 stores worldwide. Recent expansions in Japan and Austria demonstrate the brand’s growing footprint, while the opening of a flagship location at Union Square reinforces its deep roots in New York City. Plans are underway to establish new locations in Miami and Chicago in the United States, as well as a first-ever shop in Melbourne, Australia, and a third store in Paris, France. These developments aim to bring MOSCOT’s distinctive combination of heritage and style to an even wider audience.
Dr. Harvey Moscot, CEO and part of the company’s fourth generation, reflected on the brand’s journey and the community that has supported it over the years. Speaking to Tempus Magazine, he said, “In celebrating 110 years of MOSCOT, we’re reflecting on our journey and the remarkable community that has joined us along the way. Our growth has been deliberate, rooted in the values that my great-grandfather established.” He emphasized the brand’s ongoing commitment to “quality, authenticity, and community” as foundational elements moving forward.
Zack Moscot, chief design officer, added insight into the personal nature of MOSCOT’s eyewear. “Eyewear is personal, and our customers connect with Moscot because of our heritage and the craftsmanship behind every frame. That legacy will always be at the heart of what we do,” he said.
The release of the LEMTOSH 110 Crystal/Gold is part of a series of special editions and collections planned throughout 2025 to mark this important anniversary year. The frames are now available online and exclusively at MOSCOT’s London locations, including Beak Street, Covent Garden, Marylebone, and King’s Road.
As MOSCOT continues into its 12th decade, the brand’s story remains closely tied to the lives and memories of its customers—a living legacy that honors its origins and looks toward a future of continued craftsmanship and style.
