The 10th anniversary of MUFFEST will take place from February 20 to 23, 2025, in Jakarta, featuring 130 brands and a focus on empowering small businesses.
The Muslim Fashion Festival (MUFFEST) 2025 is set to take place from February 20 to 23 at Hall A of the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Senayan, Central Jakarta. This year’s festival, marking its 10th anniversary, is themed “Connecting in Style” and aims to celebrate the burgeoning modest fashion industry, showcasing the innovations and talents within this sector.
Among the 130 brands and designers participating in MUFFEST 2025 are 12 micro and small enterprises (SMEs) that have been nurtured by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero). These SMEs are utilizing the festival as an opportunity to enhance their market presence and improve the competitiveness of their products. The diverse array of items being presented includes Muslim apparel, handicrafts, jewelry, and perfumes, all produced by these burgeoning businesses.
Febrianto Zenny, the Head of Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) at Pelindo, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the growth of small enterprises. Speaking to WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, he stated, “We do not only provide assistance, but also open wider market access for SMEs so that they can adapt to industry trends and improve the quality of their products.” This initiative is representative of Pelindo’s broader strategy to empower SMEs and encourage their active participation in the creative industry.
The SMEs showcasing their products at MUFFEST 2025 have already received positive feedback from visitors, indicating opportunities for potential collaborations with players in the fashion and retail sectors. As Zenny noted, “This event presents a great opportunity for them to explore new partnerships and expand their business networks.”
In addition to product exhibitions and fashion shows, MUFFEST 2025 will include seminars and discussions aimed at fostering growth and innovation within the Muslim fashion industry in Indonesia. Given that Indonesia is recognized as one of the largest modest fashion markets globally, there is a concerted effort to enhance the competitiveness of this sector on an international scale.
The ongoing support for SMEs at events like MUFFEST is seen as a strategic approach to strengthen the creative industry ecosystem that revolves around Muslim fashion. According to Zenny, the initiative plays a crucial role in maintaining growth momentum for these small businesses, enabling them to reach broader markets both domestically and internationally. The festival, therefore, serves not only as a platform for showcasing products but also as a catalyst for expanding business opportunities within Indonesia’s vibrant fashion industry.
