Celebrated jewellery designer Nadine Ghosn celebrates a decade of her brand, gaining attention from celebrities like Drake and Pharrell while focusing on emotional resonance in her creations.
Jewellery designer Nadine Ghosn is celebrating the tenth anniversary of her eponymous brand, garnering attention from a host of celebrities including Drake, Pharrell, and Nigo. Ghosn’s unique approach to jewellery design has enchanted thousands of fans, and she attributes her success to the resonance of her creations rather than traditional marketing efforts. “I’m lucky to have been noticed by these people. I don’t have a press team to reach out to them, they come to me because I have created something that resonates with them,” Ghosn stated in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Singapore.
Ghosn’s design portfolio includes viral pieces such as the Veggie Burger ring set, the playful Crayola, and pencil bracelets, and she is known for her ability to blend everyday items with high fashion. In her latest interviews, she has shared insights into her journey, inspirations, and future collaborations.
From an early age, Ghosn had a fascination with jewellery, having taken a liking to wearing necklaces and earrings at just two years old, despite her sisters’ preference for books and dolls. Although she initially considered pursuing a career in fashion, a pivotal experience at Hermès deeply influenced her decision to become a jewellery designer. Ghosn pursued education in economics and art at Stanford University, followed by a stint in consulting before her time at Hermès exposed her to commercial jewellery workflows. “I wanted to get my hands dirty,” Ghosn reflected about her career transition.
Her strategy for entering the jewellery space involved extensive research, including numerous coffee chats and attending trade shows, as well as completing a three-month course at the Gemological Institute of America. This groundwork laid the foundation for her brand, which she launched on Instagram in a bold move to engage potential customers through social media.
One of Ghosn’s defining moments in her career was the creation of her Vegan Burger ring, which marked her first collaboration with McDonald’s and earned her accolades. She notes, “It represents many key moments of my career,” further indicating the significance of that piece in what has since been a prolific career.
In her upcoming work, Ghosn is set to introduce a new limited edition design for Crayola in 2025, revamping the iconic Crayola box design for the first time since its inception. This collaboration highlights her ability to blend nostalgia with contemporary design, as she stated, “I love what the brand represents—that child-like curiosity.” She also emphasized the importance of connecting with her audience, noting, “Jewellery isn’t a necessity, it is a want based on emotions and stories that these people have.”
Additionally, Ghosn has been working on collaborations with key watch brands, including Rolex, where she has partnered with the watch retailer WristCheck to customize watch hands. This collaboration is set to allow watch owners to personalize their timepieces with unique details, reflecting her longstanding passion for watches that began in her childhood. “I had loved watches since I was four years old,” she remarked, underlining her commitment to blending formality with personal expression through custom designs.
Looking ahead, Ghosn has shared her thoughts on how collectors can approach expanding their watch and jewellery collections, advising that personal preference should take precedence over trends. She noted, “If you are thinking of buying a gold watch, do it soon,” acknowledging the fluctuating market prices for precious metals.
As Ghosn continues to shape her brand and work on innovative partnerships, her journey exemplifies a unique blend of childhood passion, strategic career decisions, and a commitment to creating accessible, emotionally resonant pieces of jewellery and timepieces.
