The Nagpur Municipal Corporation hosted a unique fashion show featuring outfits made from old newspapers, celebrating creativity and environmental sustainability.

A fashion show, celebrating International Women’s Day, took center stage as part of the Amrit Jubilee Year festivities hosted by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The event took place on March 8 and coincided with the Women Entrepreneurs’ Meet. One of the standout features of the show was a unique ramp walk where young women modeled outfits made entirely from old newspapers, which captivated the audience’s attention with their creativity and environmental message.

The high-profile event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, renowned singer and social worker Smt. Amruta Fadnavis, as well as Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary and Additional Commissioner Smt. Aanchal Goyal. Also present were Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ranjana Lade, Smt. Ashwini Jichkar, Dr. Anushree Chaudhary, along with other prominent figures from the local community.

The dresses were designed and created by the Swachh Bharat Mission IEC team of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Their efforts not only showcased artistic talent but also aimed to highlight critical themes of environmental conservation, recycling, and sustainability. The innovative use of waste materials emphasized the potential for creative expression in eco-friendly design.

Attendees showed great enthusiasm for the event, with many eager to take selfies alongside the participants donned in paper outfits, thereby amplifying the message of eco-friendly fashion. The event successfully merged artistry with an important environmental cause, marking a significant occasion for all involved.
