London: Nanushka marks its 20th anniversary with the innovative fall 2025 collection titled ‘Grow’, showcasing a blend of masculine and feminine styles, while creative director Sandra Sándor reflects on her journey and motherhood, hinting at daring future directions for the brand.

This season, Nanushka presented a collection that exemplifies a striking juxtaposition of influences, marking an important milestone as the brand celebrates its 20th anniversary. Creative director Sandra Sándor reflected on her evolution from a young designer to a seasoned figure in the fashion industry, whilst simultaneously considering the journey of her “refined bohemian” clientele. This was evident in the fall 2025 collection, aptly named Grow.

The collection marries various aesthetic elements, including the interplay of the past and future, as well as the blending of masculine and feminine styles. Sándor revisited some of her favourite designs from Nanushka’s history, drawing particular inspiration from the pilgrim collar. “We started off [with] an intuitive draping session and we placed this collar onto the different parts of the body,” she stated. This approach resulted in noteworthy innovations within the collection, particularly when the collar was positioned at the waistband of a column skirt, resembling a blooming flower.

Throughout the season, Sándor managed to balance her own experiences of motherhood with her design sensibility, avoiding an over-reliance on traditionally feminine pieces. The collection featured strong-shouldered garments, including a pinstripe suit with a cinched waist, which stood out as particularly compelling compared to some of the more typical dresses associated with the brand.

In an interesting development, Sándor opted not to heavily showcase Nanushka’s signature faux-leather, Okobor, featuring it only in a sage green jacket. “We didn’t want to give a huge presence to it in the collection, but we still wanted it to be there,” she explained. This deliberate choice allowed her to explore a broader spectrum of designs, despite some critiques regarding the lack of colour diversity within the collection. As Sándor looks towards the future of Nanushka, there is anticipation regarding potential bold risks that may be taken in upcoming collections.
