Scheduled for May 8-11, 2025, the inaugural Native Fashion Week Santa Fe will highlight over 30 Indigenous designers and celebrate their rich heritage.
Native Fashion Week Santa Fe 2025 is set to take place from May 8 to 11 at the Santa Fe Railyard Arts District, showcasing an impressive array of more than 30 Indigenous designers and 100 models. This inaugural event aims to bring attention to Indigenous fashion and its rich heritage, featuring both established figures and emerging talent from across North America.
Among the prominent designers highlighted at the event is Orlando Dugi, renowned for his high-fashion eveningwear, alongside Lesley Hampton, an advocate for body-positive and inclusive design. The lineup will also include a variety of first-time designers who aim to innovate and reshape the current fashion landscape.
Amber-Dawn Bear Robe, a member of the Siksika Nation and the fashion curator and executive director of Native Fashion Week Santa Fe, emphasized the historical significance of Indigenous fashion, stating, “Indigenous fashion has been couture since before ‘couture’ existed. The precision, the artistry, the vision — it’s always been here, shaping style in ways the industry is only beginning to understand. Native Fashion Week Santa Fe is where that influence takes the stage.”
The Native Fashion Week coincides with the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) Fashion Week, which will occur from May 7 to 11. Together, these events aim to create a vibrant platform for Indigenous designers.
The Native Fashion Week will feature two full days of runway shows and programming. In addition to Orlando Dugi and Lesley Hampton, other brands participating include Apache Skateboards & Douglas Miles, Korina Emmerich, Lauren Good Day, Nonamey, and Products of My Environment x The Son of Picasso. JAM Productions will handle the production of the runway events.
The week’s programming will also include an industry-focused panel discussion featuring journalist and author Christian Allaire, known for his work “The Power of Style: How Fashion and Beauty are Being Used to Reclaim Cultures.” Furthermore, trunk shows and brand activations will occur throughout the Railyard, providing designers an opportunity to connect with buyers and collectors. Additionally, the NFW Fashion Film Festival, hosted by Violet Crown Cinemas, will showcase iconic films that celebrate the intersection of fashion and culture.
