A new charity shop has opened its doors in Middlebrook, garnering attention for its size, organization, and wide range of products, while also committing to community support.

A new charity shop has opened in Middlebrook, and it is already making waves in the community as one of the UK’s largest independent charity retail outlets. Formerly known as Age Concern Central Lancashire, the store has broadened its offerings and is aiming to attract a wide array of customers.

The grand opening drew numerous visitors, including Melody Gibbons from Rochdale, who expressed her surprise at the store’s size and organization. “It’s massive for a charity shop, and it’s so much busier than I expected,” she noted. Gibbons appreciated the store’s meticulous color coordination of items, which she found refreshing compared to smaller charity shops she has visited across the country.

The launch celebration featured a variety of festivities, including a raffle where the first 100 customers had the chance to win a £50 voucher. Adding to the festive atmosphere were stilt walkers, who entertained attendees while free tote bags were distributed.

CEO Suzanne Carr, who embraced a stylish look in thrifted designer wear, commented on the successful opening: “Today is absolutely amazing and it has exceeded our expectations. Going large at Middlebrook was a challenge but we had a vision, and we knew that we wanted to deliver the very best at what we do.”

The shop goes beyond just clothing; it also offers a diverse range of products that includes homeware, furniture, books, and a dedicated bridal section. Shopper Glynis Baker highlighted her positive experience, stating, “I’ve got some wine glasses that I’ve been looking for, for a long time but managed to get them here.” She also noted the affordable prices on more expensive dresses, emphasizing that the store provides bargains that can significantly ease wedding costs during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Beyond its retail operations, Regenerage remains active in the community, running activity centers that offer dementia support, fitness programs, and financial advice, thus reinforcing its commitment to making a meaningful impact beyond the retail space. The Bolton News reports on the grand opening and the excitement it has generated among local residents.
