Denver: A new online marketplace, Refound Goods, has launched to cater to the growing demand for pre-owned home goods. Founded by Katie Reinhart, the platform prioritises quality, community support, and environmental sustainability, while ensuring a secure shopping experience for budget-conscious consumers.

In response to the rising popularity of pre-owned and vintage shopping, particularly among budget-conscious consumers and those with an eye on climate responsibility, a new online marketplace has been launched in Denver. Founded in September 2024 by Katie Reinhart, Refound Goods aims to provide a reliable source for vintage and second-hand home goods, amidst increasing concerns about scams and authenticity in the online marketplace.

Refound Goods prioritises quality and uniqueness in its offerings, ensuring that each item is carefully sourced. Speaking to 303 Magazine, Reinhart expressed her belief in the transformative power of vintage items, stating, “There’s something magical about finding a hidden gem that can transform a space.” The thrill of discovering unique pieces, whether in a vintage store or via social media marketplaces, can be overshadowed by the risks associated with unreliable sellers and price inflation.

The new marketplace seeks to alleviate these challenges by offering a streamlined purchasing process that reflects transparency and ease. “We’ve essentially done the treasure hunting for you, bringing together the kind of cool, high-quality finds you’d stumble upon in an antique mall or on a lucky scroll through Facebook Marketplace, minus all the clutter and frustration,” Reinhart explained. The site supports secure online transactions and includes buyer protection guarantees, along with local delivery options to enhance the shopping experience for its users.

Beyond convenience, Refound Goods also underscores the environmental benefits of buying second-hand. Reinhart highlighted the significant waste produced by the furniture industry, referencing a report from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which noted that over 12 million tons of furniture were discarded in the United States in 2018, with projections suggesting this could rise to about 14 million tons by 2025. She articulated the mission of Refound Goods, stating, “Refound Goods offers a solution by curating a marketplace where beautiful, well-made furniture is already in circulation and can find a new home without contributing to this waste.”

The business is not only positioned to thrive within the local economy but is also committed to enriching the Denver community. Reinhart remarked on the vibrant and creative spirit of the area, highlighting the importance of local shopping in bolstering the community’s economic health. “Shopping locally strengthens our community in meaningful ways. At Refound, we’re proud to support local sellers—whether they’re professional thrifters, refinishers, or everyday people looking to rehome their furniture. Every transaction on our platform contributes to Denver’s circular economy, keeping money in our community while celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship that makes it unique.”

Refound Goods positions itself as a modern solution to embracing timeless fashion in home décor, showcasing a variety of items from rugs and lamps to pottery and paintings. For those interested in making environmentally-friendly purchasing choices that blend retro charm with modern sensibilities, this new marketplace may offer an appealing option.
