London: Designer Nicholas Daley unveils his Autumn/Winter 2025 collection ‘ISLAND TIES’, blending Jamaican and Scottish cultures through rich patterns and tailored pieces. The collection features collaborations and a strong narrative celebrating Black British identity, showcasing innovative designs and distinct patterns like the new Night Tartan.
Nicholas Daley has launched his Autumn/Winter 2025 collection titled ‘ISLAND TIES’, which pays homage to his cultural heritage and deep personal ties to Jamaica and Scotland. This latest collection is noted for intertwining the designer’s rich ancestry with his own history and community, providing a heartfelt narrative that resonates throughout the pieces.
The collection showcases a nostalgic essence, drawing a connection between Jamaican and British cultures through Daley’s personal journey. A standout feature of ‘ISLAND TIES’ is the introduction of a new variant of the brand’s signature Nicholas Daley Check, dubbed the Night Tartan. This distinctive pattern incorporates the traditional colours of red, gold, and green from the Jamaican flag, creatively integrating them into materials like soft mohair and opulent lambswool. The mohair items exhibit classic streetwear elements with wide-leg pleated trousers and oversized macs, while the lambswool variations incline towards sophistication with bomber jackets, wrapped kilts, and thick scarves.
The collection is further defined by strong tailoring, reminiscent of Daley’s formative experiences on Savile Row. It features sharp pleats and clean cuts, harmoniously blended with boxy layering and oversized silhouettes, presenting a modern twist that facilitates a rich dialogue between diverse cultures.
