London: Nicola Coughlan, best known as Penelope Featherington in ‘Bridgerton’, showcases her style while promoting the annual Red Nose Day campaign for Comic Relief. Her fashionable ensemble, featuring a Toy Story t-shirt and a sequinned skirt, highlights celebrity engagement in humanitarian efforts.

Nicola Coughlan, renowned for her portrayal of Penelope Featherington in the hit Netflix series “Bridgerton,” has recently taken to social media to showcase her involvement in the annual Red Nose Day charity campaign, organised by Comic Relief. The 38-year-old Irish actress, celebrated for her sense of style both on and off the screen, shared several photographs on Instagram that illustrate her relaxed yet glamorous fashion choices for the initiative.

In her campaign images, Coughlan wore a white t-shirt adorned with a Toy Story theme, featuring the beloved character Jessie. This t-shirt, priced at £13 and available at Tk Maxx, is part of a charitable line, with proceeds directed to Comic Relief. The actress paired the casual shirt with a striking crimson red sequinned pencil skirt, a colour closely associated with the spirit of Red Nose Day, creating an ensemble that seamlessly blended, as she described, “laid-back t-shirt for special occasions.”

In her Instagram post, Coughlan expressed her pride in participating in this year’s #RedNoseDay campaign, stating, “I’m so proud to be part of this year’s #RedNoseDay campaign with @tkmaxxuk. The fashion line-up is available now, both in store and online, featuring iconic designs from seven returning collaborations. More importantly, the profits from all items go to @comicrelief Together, we can make a meaningful difference.”

To complement her outfit, Coughlan opted for a minimalistic beauty look, styling her signature blonde hair in loose waves and using subtle red eyeshadow paired with a soft red lip, enhancing the overall message of the event.

Red Nose Day first took place on February 5, 1988, shortly after the establishment of Comic Relief three years prior. The charity was founded by Richard Curtis, a screenwriter well-known for his comedic works, along with comedian Sir Lenny Henry, to encourage public donations for various causes. Comic Relief’s mission, as outlined on their website, is to support community organisations in the UK and abroad, funding crucial services such as health workers and youth safe-spaces, while also supporting local food centres and baby banks.

As Nicola Coughlan continues to make a mark in the fashion world, her contribution to Comic Relief’s efforts reflects a growing trend where celebrities leverage their influence to support humanitarian causes.
