During her appearance as showstopper for NIF Global at Lakme Fashion Week, Nushrratt Bharuccha emphasized the importance of sustainability in fashion and discussed her upcoming film ‘Chhorii 2’.

Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha recently highlighted the evolution of fashion towards sustainability during her appearance at the Lakme Fashion Week, where she served as the showstopper for NIF Global’s ‘The Runway.’ The event, which is being held in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), took place in Mumbai.

Speaking to ANI, Bharuccha emphasized her belief in limiting consumerism in fashion. She stated, “I think in fashion, what I like is that we have evolved to sustainability because deep in my heart, I believe that we can’t be such consumerists. There has to be a limit on how much we can consume, and I think the best way to stop consumption is to recycle and reuse what we already have. Give me this outfit, and I can wear it in five different ways. That is what I really like about fashion.” Bharuccha’s outfit at the event was noted for its comfort and versatility, describing it as suitable for various occasions, from parties to casual outings.

On the professional front, Bharuccha is set to appear in the highly anticipated sequel, “Chhorii 2,” which is scheduled for release on April 11, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video. The film, directed by Vishal Furia, will feature Bharuccha alongside Soha Ali Khan, with additional roles played by Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma.

“Chhorii 2” follows the success of the original film, which debuted in 2021 and garnered acclaim for its gripping story that intertwined horror and folklore. The upcoming sequel aims to intensify the supernatural horror experience, centering around a mother’s fight against paranormal challenges and societal issues. The film is produced by T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment, Psych, and Tamarisk Lane Production, with Vikram Malhotra, the CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, sharing the creative vision behind the sequel’s development.

The Lakme Fashion Week continues to serve as a platform for discussions and presentations that blend fashion, culture, and societal themes, reflecting the industry’s changing landscape and its response to contemporary issues such as sustainability.
