Renowned for its durable designs, the brand remains focused on quality and responsible sourcing to ensure long-lasting pieces.
Otiumberg, a London-based jewellery brand, has gained recognition for its commitment to creating timeless pieces that are designed for daily wear. Founded in 2016 by sisters Christie and Rosanna Wollenberg, the brand steers clear of fleeting trends, opting instead for designs that promise longevity in both style and quality.
In a notable development earlier this year, Otiumberg was awarded B Corp Certification in 2023, highlighting the brand’s adherence to rigorous sustainable business practices. This certification indicates that Otiumberg meets high standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Among the standout offerings from Otiumberg are its hoop earrings, which are crafted from recycled 14-carat yellow-gold vermeil. This material is regarded as a more durable alternative to traditional gold plating, appealing to consumers looking for quality in their jewellery. The use of recycled metals underlines the brand’s commitment to sustainability, as it reduces the demand for new mining.
However, the brand does utilise air freight for the transport of its jewellery. To mitigate the environmental impact associated with this method of shipping, Otiumberg invests in renewable energy projects aimed at offsetting its carbon footprint.
Additionally, Otiumberg has introduced responsibly sourced single mine origin (SMO) gold to its collections in 2023. This initiative ensures that the gold used is fully traceable back to a specific mine, promoting environmentally and socially responsible practices throughout the extraction process.
The jewellery is produced in Thailand and is made using recycled 14-carat yellow-gold vermeil layered over recycled sterling silver. With a focus on sustainability and quality, Otiumberg has been rated four out of five stars, reflecting its growing reputation in the jewellery market.
