The popular Hamilton shop will shut its physical location after over two decades but will continue to operate online amid changing consumer habits.

Pure Home Couture, a well-regarded shop on Locke Street in Hamilton, is set to close its physical store after an impressive 23 years of operation. Located at 174 Locke Street South since 2002, the shop has built a reputation for its unique line of apothecary products, offering an array of home and bath items such as scented candles, soaps, lotions, perfumes, bath bombs, and natural deodorants.

The announcement of the closure comes as the business transitions due to what they describe as a “shift in consumer behaviour” and ongoing economic uncertainty. The physical store is expected to cease operations in April, but the company plans to maintain its presence through e-commerce, aiming to provide customers with a seamless online shopping experience. In a recent social media post, the shop expressed its sentiments regarding the closure, stating, “While we are sad to turn the page on our beautiful atelier space we so adore, we embrace the future as a new beginning.”

In anticipation of the store’s closure, Pure Home Couture is currently running a clearance sale, offering discounts ranging from 20% to 50% off on various items. Customers are encouraged to visit the store to take advantage of these offers and bid farewell to the beloved local business, with operations continuing until the end of April.
