At the prestigious Duke Mansion located in the Upper East Side, LoveShackFancy designer Rebecca Hessel Cohen presented her fall 2025 collection, drawing inspiration from the legendary socialite Doris Duke. This event, which took place recently, featured models elegantly ascending the mansion’s iconic staircase, showcasing a line of elevated partywear that merged vintage allure with contemporary flair.
In a statement to Women’s Wear Daily, Hessel Cohen expressed her vision for the collection, noting, “She was this muse, and we reimagined her through the different eras of this fun aristocratic, but really cool, laid-back rebellious girl.” Her designs traverse multiple decades, reflecting influences from the 1930s, the 1970s, and the early 2000s. The collection is anchored by what Hessel Cohen described as a “beautiful fall palette,” characterised by variations of bronzes, mauves, and pinks that she likened to a makeup palette.
The line featured an assortment of luxurious and feminine styles, incorporating elements such as Victorian and Edwardian lace, floral appliqué, faux fur, and sequins. Highlighting the craftsmanship involved in the collection, Hessel Cohen pointed out a standout piece: a floral appliqué dress that took an astonishing 325 hours of intricate sequin and beadwork to create.
