Prominent Australian designer Rebecca Vallance expands her brand with a new denim line featuring versatile styles perfect for day-to-night wear.

Rebecca Vallance, a prominent figure in the Australian fashion scene, has recently ventured into an unexpected domain: denim. The designer, known for her luxurious embellished gowns and tailored suits adorned by celebrities like Paris Hilton, Sofia Vergara, and Eva Mendes, unveiled her inaugural denim collection this week, marking a significant expansion of her eponymous brand.

The new collection consists of 15 premium denim pieces, thoughtfully designed to transition seamlessly from day to night. Vallance emphasized the versatility of this range, suggesting that several items could indeed grace a cocktail party. The highlight pieces include chic indigo skin-tight straight jeans complemented by a pussy bow blouse and a classic tailored blazer, ideal for a sophisticated evening ensemble.

In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, Vallance articulated the inspiration behind her latest offering, pointing to her clientele’s desire for a more formal denim selection. “Over the years we have continued to grow and strengthen our categories,” Vallance stated, referring to the evolution of her brand, which also includes ready-to-wear and bridal lines as well as essentials in tailored suiting and blouses. “The next step for us had to be denim; our customers were looking for sophisticated everyday pieces and our new denim collection speaks to that,” she added.

The collection is characterized by a Seventies aesthetic, featuring retro flares, cinched-waist fitted dresses, and oversized aviator jackets, while still showcasing Vallance’s signature approach to tailoring. This balance of structure, comfort, and modern femininity is evident throughout the range.

Vallance revealed her personal favorite from the collection, the Gisele flare jeans in Indigo Wash. She remarked, “Although I love all the pieces, the Gisele flare jeans are refined but still fun. You can wear them to the office but also wear them out—they’re so chic.” The jeans reflect a resurgence in popularity, as evidenced by their visibility on stars such as Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski.

With the fashion industry facing numerous challenges, including brand closures due to economic pressures, Vallance’s business is thriving, with a reported sales increase of over 30% this year. Notably, 58% of her clientele are international, indicating her growing global presence. Vallance is capitalizing on this momentum with plans for additional standalone stores following the recent opening of her flagship location in Sydney’s Strand Arcade.

Looking ahead, she hinted at more capsule collections and notable global events on the horizon, stating, “We have a lot of exciting things coming up this year; be sure to watch this space.” Furthermore, she expressed eagerness to see various celebrities don her new denim creations, mentioning names like Kaia Gerber and Sydney Sweeney as potential style icons for her collection. Vallance’s expansion into denim reflects her commitment to meeting consumer demand while simultaneously enhancing the sophistication associated with her brand.
