The upcoming Retail Technology Show will bring together industry leaders to explore how fashion brands are adapting to the preferences of Gen Zalpha shoppers.

The upcoming Retail Technology Show (RTS), scheduled for April 2 and 3, 2025, will spotlight how fashion companies engage with the emerging demographic of ‘Gen Zalpha’ shoppers through trends such as culture, convenience, and circularity. The event will bring together prominent figures from the British fashion industry to discuss innovative strategies in a rapidly evolving market.

Among the key speakers is Stuart Trevor, who is well-known as the founder of AllSaints and Bolongaro Trevor. He has recently launched a new brand selling apparel crafted exclusively from recycled garments or deadstock fabric. Trevor emphasized that the motivation behind creating a fashion brand that doesn’t produce new clothing is primarily informed by consumer insights into younger demographics. “I know that there are lots of younger people who will not shop anywhere other than vintage, markets, charity shops and there’s a social divide – they won’t associate with kids that shop fast fashion,” he remarked.

Trevor envisions a future in which established fashion brands improve their practices, stating, “My mission is not to destroy those brands. My mission is to try and encourage those brands to do better, and then perhaps we can bring about a positive change. Ultimately, they must, because Gen Z are not going to continue to allow the planet to be destroyed by conspicuous consumption.”

Another speaker, Simone Oloman, co-founder of the 90-minute fashion delivery app Need It For Tonight (NIFT), discussed the origins of her venture. The idea was sparked when Oloman’s sister experienced a late delivery for a fashion item she needed for an event that day. This incident highlighted a gap in the on-demand delivery market for fashion, akin to food delivery services like Deliveroo. “In the same way, we really want to mirror that in the fashion space and encourage people to shop locally,” Oloman stated. She added that partnering with emerging designers and independent boutiques through NIFT aims to drive consumers to explore local fashions.

Additionally, George Sullivan, the CEO and founder of The Sole Supplier, will also feature as a speaker. His platform focuses on high-end footwear and streetwear while emphasizing the personal stories behind each brand. Sullivan noted, “The brands that we talk about (on our platform) have got ‘heart’. They’re often independent owners and brands, but they’ve all got a story behind them.” He pointed out that these narratives resonate strongly with younger audiences who connect more deeply with the origins of the brands.

The Retail Technology Show 2025 will feature a variety of sessions with these speakers alongside others from the industry. Those interested in attending can register for free at the event’s website.
