Retrofête’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection captivates with a blend of vintage inspiration and contemporary glamour, showcasing unique designs that resonate with women across generations.

Retrofête showcased a bold and dynamic collection during New York Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2025, continuing the brand’s celebrated fusion of vintage inspiration and contemporary glamour. Ohad Seroya, the co-founder and creative visionary behind Retrofête, utilized a blend of contrasting elements—masculine and feminine, structured and fluid, classic and avant-garde—to craft a line that resonates with a sense of both nostalgia and fresh innovation.

The collection this season draws inspiration from a variety of decades, including the elegance of the 1960s represented by A-line skirts and the casual yet edgy spirit of the 1990s reflected in bold British plaid patterns. Rich colors such as burgundy, ochre, and deep cognac added an opulent touch, making each piece feel both luxurious and unique.

Seroya’s emphasis on reinvention is particularly evident in his treatment of traditional menswear styles, which he transforms into captivating feminine silhouettes. For instance, he reimagines men’s dress shoes into sleek heels, successfully intertwining strength and sensuality. The collection features power dressing elements, including tailored trousers and sharp blazers that evoke authority and sophistication. Among the standout pieces is a striking burgundy suit, made from rich velvet, alongside a luxurious gold ruched dress that exemplifies the balance of structure and fluidity pivotal to the entire presentation.

The runway also featured a classic houndstooth trench coat in a muted pinot hue, paired with vintage-inspired faux furs that showcase layered styling and elevate casual looks with an air of opulence. The combination of rugged denim and sumptuous faux furs encapsulates the essence of the Retrofête woman—confident, cool, and effortlessly chic.

Speaking on the brand’s appeal across different generations, Seroya expressed joy in creating a brand that makes women feel glamorous. He mentioned personal experiences of women, including his own daughters, donning the dresses, which reflects Retrofête’s vision to unite different ages through fashion. In a conversation with Orlando Style Magazine, Seroya noted, “There’s something magical about a brand that speaks across generations, making every woman feel glamorous in her own way.”

Seroya’s design philosophy is not only about crafting eye-catching garments but also about building a lifestyle that celebrates individuality and confidence. He spoke of the brand’s roots, detailing that he and his husband, Aviad, began their journey in fashion 12 years ago in New York, initially dealing with private labels. Their experiences led them to create Retrofête, a name combining “retro” denoting vintage and “fête”, the French word for party, indicative of the joyful atmosphere they wanted their brand to convey.

The campaign for Fall/Winter 2025 highlights a blend of masculine and feminine aesthetics, reflecting a powerful portrayal of womanhood that Seroya seeks to embody in his designs. With a keen focus on energizing women through fashion, he mentioned that 98% of his team is female, expressing gratitude for their support throughout his career.

Moreover, the brand is set to expand its offerings with a pop-up shop at The Standard hotel in Miami Beach this spring, providing an opportunity for broader audiences to engage with Retrofête’s creations.
