RE&UP collaborates with Marchi & Fildi to create high-quality recycled cotton yarns, marking a significant step toward sustainability in the textile industry.

RE&UP, a company specializing in textile-to-textile recycling, has announced a collaboration with Marchi & Fildi, a textiles group noted for its yarn production. The partnership, which is currently in its pre-industrial phase, aims to develop a new line of high-quality recycled cotton yarns. This initiative is a strategic move that combines Marchi & Fildi’s expertise in sustainable yarn creation with RE&UP’s advanced recycling technology.

The joint project focuses on circular innovation within the textile industry, with the goal of impacting all levels of the textile value chain. The recycled cotton fibers will be sourced from RE&UP’s fully integrated process, which transforms post-consumer waste into premium raw materials designed for industrial use.

Both companies are working to lay the groundwork for scalable and high-performance solutions that could enhance the entire textile value chain. By merging RE&UP’s innovative recycling techniques with Marchi & Fildi’s capabilities in premium yarn manufacturing, they aim to forge a path toward more sustainable practices.

Marco Lucietti, Head of Global Marketing and Communications at RE&UP, expressed that this collaboration pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved with recycled cotton fibers. He noted that it signifies a move closer to making Next-Gen yarns scalable.

Alberto Grosso, Business Development Manager at Marchi & Fildi, affirmed the importance of collaboration in this endeavor. He emphasized that continuous investment in technical knowledge and cutting-edge technology is necessary for developing yarns from recycled fibers. According to Grosso, collaborations with partners like RE&UP, who share a commitment to quality and circularity, play a crucial role in creating new opportunities for innovation and development in the industry.
