Run Legacy aims to balance performance and environmental responsibility, committing to sustainability in the athletic gear market.

Run Legacy has officially launched as the world’s sole dedicated sustainable sports brand retailer, representing a noteworthy step in the company’s mission to deliver premium eco-friendly products to a growing customer base.

Founded by Ben Lee, Run Legacy seeks to align with the desires of today’s running community, which increasingly demands a balance between performance and environmental responsibility. “We recognise today’s running community wants to balance performance with reduced impact on the natural world,” Lee stated, emphasizing the dual goals of catering to athletes while supporting broader societal values. The platform facilitates the purchasing of performance gear with a clear focus on sustainability, thus addressing the rising demand for both transparency in manufacturing and environmentally conscious options.

Run Legacy is committing significant resources towards creating sustainable value and altering consumer behavior within the sports community. As part of its environmental initiatives, the company plants a tree for each order placed through its partnership with Ecologi and contributes 1% of its annual revenue to various environmental causes under the 1% for the Planet initiative.

A distinctive feature of Run Legacy is its thorough verification process for sustainability claims regarding all brands showcased on the platform, supported by Compare Ethics. This process aims to assure customers of the authenticity of each product’s environmental credentials.

Representatives from partner brands also echoed Run Legacy’s commitment to sustainability. “Our society’s dependence on plastic and oil is an ecological disaster,” said a spokesperson from VEJA, which is distributed in the UK by Rolling People Showroom. They expressed enthusiasm for partnering with retailers who align with their environmental values.

Additionally, Jack Lemon, UK and EU Lead at Janji, noted the company’s dedication to eco-friendliness. He stated, “Sustainability is at the core of every decision that we make… We’re delighted to partner with Run Legacy, a retailer sharing the same values and positioned at the forefront of sustainability within the running industry.”

Currently, VEJA and Janji products are available for purchase on Run Legacy’s official website, www.run-legacy.com. The launch reflects a significant trend within the athletic gear market towards enhanced sustainability, highlighting an evolving consciousness among consumers regarding the impact of their purchases on the planet.
