Savannah Padilla and her mother, Stephanie, celebrate the grand opening of their custom-clothing store, highlighting a journey of creativity and collaboration that began eight years ago.

Savannah’s Unique Boutique officially opened its doors this past Friday at Junction Commons, marking a significant milestone for 14-year-old Savannah Padilla and her mother, Stephanie. The boutique, a custom-clothing store, has roots dating back eight years when Savannah, then just six years old, began selling homemade soaps door-to-door.

Reflecting on her early days in entrepreneurship, Savannah said, “I really enjoyed making it with my mom. It was a really fun thing to do that we could do together.” This mother-daughter activity quickly blossomed into a business venture supported by their neighbors, who encouraged Savannah to sell her soaps at a quarter each. As demand grew, the duo began to explore other products, leading them to partner with local businesses like Park City Desserts, where they set up a monthly sales booth.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented challenges and opportunities; Savannah and Stephanie expanded their offerings to include bath bombs, freeze-dried candies, custom tumblers featuring Bluetooth speakers, and trucker hats, thus enhancing their market presence with unique merchandise. Alongside these efforts, they secured a booth at the Park Silly Sunday Market, which further propelled their business, eventually evolving from Savannah’s Soaps to Savannah’s Treat Boutique and now to Savannah’s Unique Boutique.

Stephanie, who had been actively involved in the business, conveyed a sense of relief and excitement upon opening the physical location. “It felt like the right time. The thought of having to set up and tear down another booth was exhausting to me,” she told the Park Record. After participating in a 10-day rodeo in Las Vegas, opening a store allowed her to balance business with family commitments, including attending her daughter’s softball games and choir performances.

The evolution of Savannah’s involvement in the business has allowed her greater freedom to focus on childhood experiences while still consulting on product lines. “I want her to be a kid above all else,” Stephanie remarked, acknowledging the challenges of having a young partner in a business that demands long hours and dedication.

Stephanie also shared insights into her creative process, describing her products as “mountain glam” and emphasizing the importance of aesthetics in the store’s offerings. Through their collaboration, the storefront aims to appeal to a broad audience with customizable options, including thousands of accessories for hats, shirts, and jackets. “I like making things that are unique and that you are not going to find in anyone else’s store,” she stated.

The shop features not only feminine designs but also caters to boys with a variety of men’s hats and patches. Savannah has her own line of sweatshirts branded “Sunny Clouds,” targeted toward her age group and reflective of her style.

Savannah’s Unique Boutique is offering a grand opening event through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a 15% discount on all items. This momentous occasion also reflects the combined efforts of three generations of women who have played a role in bringing the store to fruition. “It’s very, very challenging,” Stephanie admitted, “but I love what I do, and I love seeing Savannah coming full circle and being able to really participate more in the business.”
