London: Designer Svitlana Bevza highlights the significance of quality outerwear and sustainable fashion in her fall 2025 collection. Drawing inspiration from the traditional Ukrainian Kozhukh, her pieces combine practicality and elegance, advocating for timeless investment in clothing while promoting eco-conscious choices among consumers.

At the recent fall 2025 presentation held at the Ukrainian Institute, designer Svitlana Bevza showcased a collection that emphasised the importance of investing in quality outerwear and sustainable fashion. Bevza, who now resides in London, expressed her belief that “a coat should be a good investment” and elaborated that “a good coat should last you years.” This perspective is deeply rooted in her appreciation for the Ukrainian Kozhukh, a traditional 19th-century coat that she has reinterpreted for contemporary audiences.

The modern iterations of the Kozhukh featured in her collection broke the traditional mould by introducing shorter styles that allow for the layering of more luxurious pieces underneath. For instance, one such combination highlighted a slinky sequin skirt paired with the updated coat, ensuring both items could shine during evening outings. Notable design elements included an exaggerated collar that remained true to the original Kozhukh silhouette while providing a fresh take.

Bevza’s collection extended beyond outerwear, focusing significantly on the aesthetic appeal of inner garments. Dresses presented were offered in a vibrant spectrum of colours, including a bold red, which marked a departure from her usual palette of neutrals. The designs featured high slits and deep v-necks, which balanced sensuality while remaining appropriate for various occasions. Even her more understated pieces included elements designed to enhance the wearer’s experience, such as trompe l’oeil bodysuit outlines on jersey dresses, demonstrating a commitment to merging practicality with elegance.

An additional highlight of the collection was the integration of commodious features such as hidden pockets, a thoughtful touch from Bevza herself, reflecting her awareness of the needs of her customers. The collection was completed with the introduction of the crushed grain bag, which first made its appearance a few seasons ago, reinforcing the seamless blend of form and function in her designs.

Throughout the presentation, Bevza’s philosophy on sustainability and timelessness was evident, encouraging customers to view her collections as investment items that are meant to endure the test of time. Emphasising the role of slow fashion and second-hand clothing in mitigating environmental impact, she aims to empower readers and consumers to make informed, sustainable style choices without sacrificing aesthetic appeal.
