Tanya Taylor has unveiled the second collection of her party wear line, Delphine, which reflects a vibrant ‘80s-inspired aesthetic. This launch took place at her home in the Meatpacking District, where Taylor expressed her enthusiasm for the era that shaped her formative years. “I love the ‘80s. I’m an ‘80s baby,” she stated during a preview, highlighting her fond memories of watching her mother prepare for events in elaborate outfits. Taylor reminisced about her mother donned in micro-minidresses adorned with festive ruffles, puffs, and bows, saying, “I just wanted to bring a little of that to how we all go out at night, but in a more modern way.”

The new collection is characterised by key pieces that embody a whimsical yet sophisticated fusion of ‘80s glamour and contemporary style. Among the standout items are drop-waist velvet minis accented with contrasting taffeta poufs, alongside satin baby doll dresses embellished with marabou feathers. Notably, the collection features tulip-hem cocktail dresses in black and pink, defined by sweetheart necklines and oversized bow attachments, as well as plunging halter gowns available in chocolate and crimson, which showcase draped waists.

While Delphine is not set to rival the scale of Taylor’s mainline, she is strategically building a foundation for what may evolve into a commercially viable venture.
