Milan: The luxury brand’s latest collection by Matteo Tamburini showcases a blend of tradition and functionality with iconic coats and innovative bags. Inspired by the Mediterranean coast, it offers elegant designs in soothing colours, appealing to those who appreciate the Italian lifestyle.
As the seasons transition into spring and summer, luxury fashion brand Tod’s has unveiled its 2025 spring-summer collection, reflecting a deep-rooted appreciation for Italian culture and aesthetics. The collection, overseen by creative director Matteo Tamburini, draws inspiration from his travels along the Mediterranean coast, encapsulating a blend of tradition and functionality that resonates with the elegance of daily Italian life.
The newly launched pieces embody a microcosm of the alluring Italian lifestyle, marked by iconic coats crafted from high-quality cotton and leather. These garments feature a variety of silhouettes and volumes, presented in a palette inspired by the natural beauty of Italy, including soothing shades of sand, bronze, green grass, blue sea, and red earth. The thoughtful colour choices serve as vibrant accents to the otherwise minimalist designs.
A significant highlight of the collection is the introduction of new bags, particularly from the “BARRETTA” series. Named after the Italian term for hairpins, this series includes bags and shoes adorned with polished elongated metal details, which not only enhance their aesthetic appeal but also carry symbolic meanings of wealth and fortune. The collection features several bag styles, including a handheld crossbody bag priced at NTD45,500, a black flap chain bag available for NTD36,900, and a light brown short wallet for NTD22,900. The “DI FOLIO” bag series, drawing from the prior Di BAG collection, offers elegance with its oval embellishments and a practical book-like opening mechanism.
The footwear component of the collection introduces the “BAFFO” series, which draws its name from the Italian word for ‘mustache’. This series offers an entertaining twist with silver metal decorations that mimic playful mustache shapes. It features a variety of shoe styles, such as high-heeled loafers that elongate the leg line and versatile flat-soled loafers that align with current fashion trends. The series also includes new limited-edition colours exclusively for the Taiwanese market: “Rose Apricot” and “Fashion Grey”. Prices for the BAFFO range from NTD27,900 for white loafers, NTD35,900 for high-heeled options, to NTD28,900 for suede flat-soled versions.
As the collection incorporates both classic designs and contemporary flair, it positions itself well within the fashion narrative for the upcoming seasons, appealing to those seeking sophistication infused with the charm of Italian heritage.
