Trove’s acquisition of reverse.supply aims to enhance branded resale solutions across 30 countries, integrating advanced technology with European expertise.
Trove, a company specializing in branded resale and customer trade-in solutions, has announced its acquisition of reverse.supply, a German firm recognized as a leader in the European branded resale market. This acquisition, significant in Trove’s efforts to broaden its international presence, aims to make branded resale more accessible across 30 countries.
The integration of Trove’s technology platform with reverse.supply’s European expertise is intended to create a comprehensive suite of technological tools for brands looking to implement circular economy solutions. These tools will assist in various areas, including omnichannel trade-in, returns processing, peer-to-peer commerce, and repair services.
According to Terry Boyle, CEO of Trove, the timing of the acquisition aligns with evolving legislation in Europe that emphasizes producers’ responsibility and the right to repair, which has prompted brands to develop effective resale and recycling programs. In a statement from the Business Wire release, Boyle noted, “By establishing our European headquarters in Berlin with a team that’s been operating in resale for nearly five years, we’re positioned to serve European and global brands seamlessly across regions.”
The acquisition will also benefit reverse.supply’s existing European clients, which include well-known brands such as Bergzeit and Decathlon, as they will gain access to Trove’s extensive technological resources.
Max Große Lutermann, co-founder of reverse.supply, expressed excitement about the merger’s potential to create strategic value for European brands. He stated, “With our merged expertise and Trove’s technology, we can now offer a scalable, profitable circular solution that’s even more tailored to the specific needs of each brand or retailer.”
This move comes on the heels of Trove’s acquisition of Recurate in August 2024, which expanded its capabilities in peer-to-peer resale and operational networks.
With its European headquarters in Berlin, Trove plans to continue growing its client base and enhancing its offerings for brands navigating the evolving retail landscape. The full team from reverse.supply will join Treve as part of the acquisition.
