Los Angeles: South African singer Tyla made a bold fashion statement with a daring boiler suit on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’, complemented by unique accessories. Her striking appearance continues to highlight her growing influence in the fashion industry, alongside host Jennifer Hudson’s elegant ensemble.

Tyla, the South African singer known for her stylish impact, showcased a daring reinterpretation of the traditional boiler suit during her recent appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on 18 February. The outfit, a stone-washed onesie cunningly unzipped, was complemented by a horn pendant necklace and a beaded choker, reflecting Tyla’s bold fashion choices.

Her look was rounded off with diamond stud earrings and black sneakers, contributing to a modern aesthetic. Tyla’s hairstyle featured a sleek curly crop, and her makeup included tan eyeshadow, defined winged eyeliner, and a gradient nude lip, highlighting her distinct style.

In contrast, host Jennifer Hudson opted for a striking ensemble comprising a white turtleneck accented with shoulder pads and black buttons, paired with a khaki Gucci pencil skirt and rippled tights. Patent leather heels completed her elegant look.

Tyla has recently been collaborating with stylist Ron Hartleben, famed for his work with various celebrities, including Sabrina Carpenter and Anitta. Hartleben has been instrumental in curating Tyla’s fashion-forward looks; most notably, her outfit at the 2024 MTV European Music Awards in Manchester, where she paid homage to the late singer Aaliyah with a stunning gown. Tyla donned a teal fur-trimmed tiger print dress from Roberto Cavalli’s fall 2000 collection, echoing Aaliyah’s iconic appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in the same year.

Tyla’s appreciation for vintage fashion has been evident, as seen when she wore a lace Gucci minidress from 1996 at the 2024 CFDA Awards and a sequined frock from John Galliano’s 2000s collection at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

Roberto Cavalli, who passed away last year at the age of 83, had a significant influence on the fashion world, dressing Aaliyah multiple times throughout her illustrious career. Current creative director Fausto Puglisi has recently showcased some of Cavalli’s archival designs, including the exact dress worn by Tyla at the EMAs, during the brand’s spring 2025 fashion presentation.

Tyla has rapidly ascended in the fashion scene, especially highlighted by her appearance at the 2024 Met Gala, where she wore an eye-catching Balmain gown made of sand. Her presence alongside luminaries such as Zendaya, Gwendoline Christie, and Lana Del Rey secured her a spot on WWD’s best dressed list at the “Garden of Time”-themed event.
