Uruguayan designer Nathalie Danten presents her innovative brand Pl?s Collective during Milan Fashion Week, emphasizing sustainability and creative collaboration.

Milan is currently the backdrop for the innovative journey of Nathalie Danten, the Uruguayan designer and founder of Pl?s Collective, a rising indie brand focused on creative collaboration and sustainable fashion. The brand, launched in 2021, has carved out a niche by prioritizing artistic integrity over scaling into a larger operation. Danten articulated her vision in a recent interview, stating, “This is already the dream,” when reflecting on her ultimate ambitions for Pl?s Collective.

Danten’s approach is defined by a desire to collaborate with diverse creative talents, experimenting with a variety of fabrics and aesthetics to produce limited-edition garments and design collectibles. Working primarily in womenswear, she partners with local manufacturers and international creatives to produce ready-to-wear and accessories. The brand emphasizes the use of repurposed materials such as deadstock fabrics and recycled yarns.

The roots of Pl?s Collective can be traced back to Danten’s time at Parsons School of Design, where she explored collaboration across disciplines for her final project. “That’s how I realized that I enjoyed more collaborating with people with different backgrounds and not just in fashion,” Danten explained. This ethos continues to influence her recruiting process, bringing together collaborators from various fields, including a Chilean welder, an Italian glass artist, and members of architectural and design collectives.

As part of Milan Fashion Week, Pl?s Collective is set to present its “Spring Decadence” fall 2025 collection at Tube Gallery. This collection will feature modular silhouettes made from Italian-sourced yarns and fabrics, such as cashmere and silk tulle. Highlighted pieces include knitted garments intended for versatile use, both individually and layered, and innovative textiles developed through collaboration with experimental design studios.

Danten noted that the “Mycelia” spring 2025 collection, showcased last September, was inspired by her interest in mushrooms, leading to collaboration with artists from various disciplines to deepen the exploration of the theme. This fusion of art, design, and biology took form in immersive presentations that highlighted textile manipulation and creative choreography.

The fall 2025 lineup of Pl?s Collective continues to embrace sustainability, repurposing materials from previous collections and featuring a range of knitted apparel, including corsets and custom-fit sweaters. Accessories such as ruched headpieces and fingerless gloves complete the collection, which is expected to retail between 150 euros and 500 euros.

Pl?s Collective has been strategically entering international markets, with sales in select boutiques such as Demain Retro in Paris and Cafè Forgot in New York, where a pop-up event is scheduled for the end of March. The brand also aims to expand into Tokyo’s Domicile, and continues to have a strong presence in Mexico City, which currently represents one of its most robust markets.
