Vasiliki Prestidge discusses her inspiration from Vivienne Westwood and her experience at the Vogue Conversations event in London.

Vasiliki Prestidge, a member of Vogue Club, recently attended an event entitled Vogue Conversations at Lightroom London, featuring Andreas Kronthaler, known for his connection to the legendary brand Vivienne Westwood. The event took place in October 2023, a month that marked Prestidge’s recent induction into the Vogue Club, coinciding with a private breakfast and viewing of the exhibition “Coco Chanel: Fashion Manifesto” at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Prestidge, who splits her time between London and Athens, has a background in language communications and has expanded her skills to include content creation and business development for luxury lifestyle brands in the fashion and beauty sectors.

During her anticipation for the Vogue Conversations, Prestidge expressed enthusiasm for the immersive installation called “Vogue: Inventing The Runway.” She remarked on her fascination with the intersection of fashion and digital art. Prestidge conveyed her admiration for Westwood, describing her not merely as a designer, but also as a provocateur and activist who was ahead of her time in advocating for sustainability and addressing climate change.

Prestidge honored Westwood’s legacy with her outfit choice, drawing inspiration from the designer’s celebrated Spring/Summer 1992 collection, Salon. She wore a full-burgundy ensemble featuring a leather pencil skirt paired with an oversized pinstripe blazer, accessorized with layered necklaces and vintage jewelry.

At the event, Prestidge had the opportunity to connect with other members, including Clémence Larrivée, a fellow Vogue Club member with a focus on beauty and fashion. An unexpected highlight was her meeting with Kronthaler himself prior to the Q&A session. She described him as “kind” and “approachable,” appreciating their brief interaction and receiving a compliment on her attire.

During the “Vogue: Inventing The Runway” experience, Prestidge found the expansive space to exceed her expectations. She particularly enjoyed the historical overview of fashion, emphasizing how the presentation encompassed all elements of a catwalk show—ranging from collections and designers to the intricate details of locations and audience engagement. The immersive exhibition captivated her with its dynamic representation of fashion history, further showcasing the innovative spirit of the fashion industry.
