Duy Tran’s fashion label, Fancì Club, has gained fame among celebrities like Dua Lipa and Blackpink’s Jennie, showcasing its unique aesthetic and commitment to cultural creativity.

Vietnamese designer Duy Tran has been making a significant mark in the fashion industry with his label Fancì Club, which has experienced a surge in popularity over the past few years. The brand’s appeal has been further amplified by a growing roster of celebrity clientele that includes high-profile names such as Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Bella Hadid, Doja Cat, Hailey Bieber, and the members of Blackpink, specifically Lisa and Jennie. Most recently, Jennie was spotted wearing a striking red halter corset from Fancì while performing her new hit single “Like Jennie” during her solo concert tour.

This isn’t the first instance of Tran’s creations being showcased by Blackpink. Over the past two years, he has designed custom pieces for Lisa’s performances in the Born Pink world tour, including striking metallic interpretations of Fancì’s popular Devil’s Delight corset, worn during concerts in cities like Paris and Hanoi.

Tran expressed his joy and humility regarding the recognition his brand has received. Speaking to Vogue Singapore, he noted, “We (Tran and his team) are always surprised when we first see our designs being featured as they look so amazing on these artists and celebrities. Usually, our whole team would scream in joy as a way to celebrate this success and I always keep an eye out for every artist who wears our designs; they all look so unbelievably gorgeous.”

The appeal of Fancì Club stems from its unique aesthetic, which combines playful silhouettes with sheer, slinky fabrics and a vibrant color palette. Tran’s vision for the brand is reflected in the spirited nature of the photoshoots, where models embrace uninhibited movement in Fancì’s barely-there pieces. This creative direction resonates with Tran’s ideals of beauty that transcend traditional standards. “Someone who possesses kindness, sincerity, and pride in their identity… a Fancì individual’s beauty lies within, and they will be able to inspire many others and contribute to the world with their own vision—no matter their imperfections,” he explained.

As his client base continues to expand globally, Tran remains excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for Fancì Club. His interactions with various artists have become essential to his creative process. “These artists not only impress me but also give me inspiration as I continue to create and live. I am grateful to see that our design philosophies have been able to reach them from across the globe. Ultimately, our success means that there are no boundaries when it comes to fashion and beauty,” he shared.

Transcending boundaries has been a fundamental aspect of Tran’s approach to fashion. Although his style draws influence from the glamour of the 1980s and 1990s, he seeks to distance himself from the conventional stereotypes associated with supermodels. “I want the brand to embody values of awareness: of our surroundings, of the self, and of the environment we’re living in today,” he stated. The individuals who inspire him the most are those closest to him—friends, staff, and anyone who expresses themselves confidently through fashion.

Tran’s passion for fashion ignited long before he launched Fancì Club. His journey began with a fascination for second-hand clothing, which led him to open an online shop. He soon realized the potential of upcycling vintage pieces, believing that many discarded garments could be rejuvenated with creativity and custom alterations. This philosophy of conscious innovation remains central to Fancì, as evidenced by its recent collections that spotlight local Vietnamese artisans. Tran remarked, “Through this collection, we want the world to know that Vietnam can also design and create quality pieces that hit a desired aesthetic and stunning in their own right.”

With plans for future collections and expanding his artistic reach, Duy Tran and Fancì Club continue to evolve, driven by a commitment to creativity and a celebration of culture.
