Vinted introduces ‘House of Vinted’, a new initiative allowing members to shop curated designer pieces from influential fashion creators, contributing to social responsibility.
Vinted, the online marketplace known for facilitating the buying and selling of second-hand clothing, has announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at bringing luxury fashion to its platform. The new feature, named ‘House of Vinted,’ is set to go live today, 25 March, at 6 p.m., and will allow Vinted members to purchase curated designer pieces from prominent fashion creators. Among those featured are influencers Susie Lau, Victoria Magrath, Simran Randhawa, Giulia Valentina, and Keiona Revlon.
The designer items available through this initiative will include pieces from high-end brands such as The Row, Prada, Gucci, Maison Margiela, and Jacquemus. Many of these items are sourced directly from the personal wardrobes of the participating creators, offering unique pieces that may not be widely available.
Vinted’s ‘House of Vinted’ was previewed to its members during an exclusive event in London last weekend, which was the brand’s first in-person luxury event. The showcase took place at The Adria hotel and was accessible to invited members from 22 March. The wardrobes displayed were themed based on the distinctive styles of the participating creators, as well as insights derived from Vinted’s data indicating increased interest in specific fashion trends, such as art deco, gingham patterns, vintage aesthetics, Scandinavian styles, statement pieces, puff sleeves, and cable-knit sweaters.
Emma Sullivan, Vinted’s creative director, expressed enthusiasm about the new offering. Speaking to Retail Gazette, Sullivan stated, “Following our ‘House of Vinted’ showcase in London this weekend, from today Vinted members across the UK will be able to shop items from the specially curated wardrobes seen at the event. I am excited for our members to share in the joy that comes from buying and selling luxury second-hand fashion.”
This expansion into the luxury fashion sector aligns Vinted with other notable ecommerce platforms such as eBay UK, which introduced a luxury consignment service in partnership with Luxe Collective last September. Similarly, John Lewis has made strides in this area by launching its first collection of pre-loved designer handbags and expanding its online second-hand jewelry offering in collaboration with luxury reseller Sign of The Times.
In addition to providing users with the opportunity to acquire high-end fashion items, a portion of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to Oxfam, further intertwining the initiative with social responsibility. As Vinted continues to diversify its offerings and tap into the luxury market, it remains a significant player in the evolving landscape of second-hand fashion retail.
