xTool’s new Apparel Printer raises over $4 million on Kickstarter, promising to simplify custom apparel printing.

xTool, a company specializing in DIY laser engraving technology, has announced the successful launch of its Apparel Printer on Kickstarter, achieving its funding goal within 1.5 hours and surpassing $1 million in contributions. As of now, the campaign has raised approximately $4 million from over 689 backers, marking xTool’s entry into the Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing market.

According to market research conducted by xTool, traditional DTF printing channels encounter several challenges, including complicated setups, limited fabric compatibility, and high maintenance requirements. Jasen Wang, the founder and CEO of xTool, commented, “Our users love apparel printing but are frustrated by existing options. With the xTool Apparel Printer, anyone can create custom apparel instantly—just like printing a document at home.” The new printer aims to eliminate these frustrations with an easy one-click operation and compatibility with various materials, including cotton, leather, polyester, and spandex. It is designed to produce high-quality results on both dark and light fabrics, while its auto-maintenance feature reduces the need for tedious nozzle cleaning.

To enhance printing precision, xTool has equipped its Apparel Printer with an industrial-grade Epson I1600 Dual Head, usually found in high-end DTF printers that can cost over $10,000. Howie Zhu, the Product Director at xTool, noted, “Combined with a 16MP AI Smart Camera for automatic calibration, the system ensures precision from the very first print.”

Additionally, the company offers Creative Space software, which aims to optimize the user experience by providing tools for design optimization, image enhancement, and layout refinement. This makes it easier for businesses and hobbyists to achieve professional-quality garment customization.

xTool currently has over 500,000 users engaged in customizing more than 80 million creative projects. The Apparel Printer is set to make its global debut at the Retail Technology Show in London on April 2, where attendees will have the chance to engage with the product directly. The official global launch is scheduled for April 11, when the printer will be available for purchase on xTool’s website.

Founded in 2020, xTool has established itself as a leading manufacturer in laser cutting and engraving, focused on simplifying the creative process for users worldwide.
