Designer Yuko Palazzo embraces sustainable practices in her latest womenswear label, Sage Imber, showcasing a commitment to eco-friendly fashion.
Yuko Palazzo, a designer based in Diamond Head, has transitioned her passion for fashion into a commitment to sustainable practices over the years. Known for her bohemian resortwear line, Marina & Co., which debuted in 2018, Palazzo has focused increasingly on eco-conscious design. “I realized that fashion is not only an art form, but also a means to give back to the earth,” she stated in an interview with Honolulu Magazine.
Since the launch of her new womenswear label, Sage Imber, in 2021, Palazzo has dedicated herself to crafting garments from natural fabrics and utilizing eco-friendly dyes. This approach incorporates traditional dyeing techniques, which are designed to significantly reduce chemical waste in the fashion production process.
Sage Imber’s aesthetic marks a shift toward minimal-modern design, reflecting a contemporary vision while emphasizing sustainability. The label’s latest collection, titled “Symbol,” explores humanity’s connection with nature, showcasing pieces such as a rose-hued day dress, a fern-colored linen blazer, a checked hemp jumper, and an abstract-print kimono top. These items not only embody a unique style but also align with Palazzo’s commitment to environmentally responsible fashion.
For those interested in sustainable fashion, Sage Imber represents a growing trend of merging aesthetic appeal with ecological accountability, highlighting a new direction in contemporary womenswear. The brand can be explored further online at sageimber.com or on Instagram @sageimber.thelabel.
