Co-founded by a mother-daughter duo, Zingy Days has made waves in the fashion world with unique designs and a commitment to sustainability, showcasing their latest ‘Éire’ collection inspired by Irish culture.

Irish clothing brand Zingy Days, co-founded by mother-daughter duo Victoria Stoyanova and her mother, has quickly made a name for itself in the fashion industry. Originating in County Tipperary, the brand launched its first collection, titled ‘MELLOW WORLD’, in 2022, showcasing a range of patterned tote bags and stylish mini over-the-shoulder bags crafted from high-quality fabrics.

Since its inception, Zingy Days has expanded its offerings to include distinct items such as animal print off-the-shoulder bags and embroidered mini clutches. The brand has also garnered attention through collaborations with other Irish labels, including Ditsy Bits and Kittenish Knits. The most recent achievement for Zingy Days came with the launch of their ‘Éire’ collection, which sold out within just 24 hours.

Speaking to VIP Magazine, Victoria Stoyanova reflects on the journey: “We both enjoy capturing art, whether it’s photography, sketching a design or compiling a scrapbook/Pinterest board of colours/symbols/objects/movies that have inspired us over the months.” The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic provided the opportunity for the duo to explore these design ideas further. Victoria noted, “Once COVID hit and time froze so did our jobs, we had time to start making some of those design ideas we had been collecting over the years!”

The collaboration between mother and daughter is rare in the fashion sector, and Victoria emphasized the importance of their relationship in navigating their business. “We share a close bond, one that was especially important as we both arrived in Ireland when I was just three years old, with no knowledge of English.” She added, “I deeply value her thoughts and opinions,” attributing their success to their ability to lean on each other’s strengths in design and business operations.

The creative direction of Zingy Days is marked by a commitment to bold colors and unique designs. Victoria explains, “We try to embody and create truly timeless pieces with a modern luxury twist.” She believes that the essence of the brand, depicted in the word “Zingy,” represents the striking nature of their products. Customer feedback suggests that wearing Zingy Days bags empowers individuals to make a statement with their outfits.

Amidst the prevalent conversation around sustainability in fashion, Zingy Days adopts a slow fashion approach. Victoria articulated the brand’s commitment to responsible production: “We began producing handbags with fabrics we had pre-owned. We then found a supplier who has a smaller supply of unique fabrics.” This strategy leads to limited collection drops, which, as the recent ‘Éire’ collection demonstrated, have high demand.

The ‘Éire’ collection, inspired by Irish culture and symbols such as the triquetra and the Triskele, reflects the duo’s connection to their heritage. “Coming up to St. Patrick’s Day, we knew we wanted to create a collection that drew inspiration from the Irish culture,” Victoria explained, highlighting the collection’s connection to traditional Celtic symbols and their meanings.

With the sold-out status of the ‘Éire’ collection, customers eager for more can anticipate a restock in April, alongside an additional surprise release. “We were blown away by the response our Éire collection received,” Victoria mentioned, detailing the impressive engagement they witnessed online upon the collection’s launch.

Looking towards the future, Zingy Days plans to expand its offerings with a focus on festival fashion as summer approaches. Victoria shared, “Expect to see a lot more festival fashion from Zingy Days coming into summer!” The brand aims to introduce new concepts for festival outfits and cross-body bags, potentially incorporating elements of Irish culture into the designs.

Zingy Days continues to redefine its space in the fashion industry, merging art, culture, and unique design while simultaneously addressing the demand for sustainable practices in its production.
