Designer Constança Entrudo unveils her latest collection, merging sustainability and cutting-edge textile innovation while highlighting the importance of curiosity in the creative process.

On March 7, 2025, in Lisbon, designer Constança Entrudo unveiled her Fall/Winter 2025 collection, spotlighting her distinctive approach to textile design. Entrudo, known for her innovative fabric work and sustainable practices, combines craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Following her education at Central Saint Martins, she gained experience at premier fashion houses including Balmain, Peter Pilotto, and Marques’Almeida before launching her own brand.

During the presentation, Entrudo emphasized her commitment to pushing boundaries in textile manufacturing. Her work is characterized by the integration of sustainability into the design process, showcasing fabrics that not only meet aesthetic demands but also address environmental concerns. In an interview, she elaborated on her design philosophy, stating that her experience in the industry shaped her vision to prioritize textiles as the core element of her work. Speaking to Vanity Teen, Entrudo remarked, “I realized I wanted to create something of my own, something independent, where textiles would not just be a tool but the central element of the design.”

The Fall/Winter 2025 collection continues Entrudo’s exploration into seamless design—an innovative approach where garments are constructed from a single piece of fabric, thereby minimizing waste. This season featured collaborations with the RDD factory aimed at developing such garments and showcased the use of deadstock materials and textile waste as key components. Entrudo noted that her inspiration stemmed from reflections on assigning new value to previously discarded items.

Entrudo’s creative process draws from a diverse array of influences, from travel to music to conversation, emphasizing that curiosity is fundamental to her design work. She explained, “A dinner conversation can lead to a new idea… even a chance encounter or a color palette in an urban landscape can kickstart the creative process.”

Looking ahead, Entrudo anticipates that the future of the textile industry will see a growing emphasis on innovative materials and art forms, particularly in the realm of seamless design and digital printing. “One of the key technologies of the future, in my opinion, is seamless design,” she commented. The designer highlighted her commitment to sourcing materials locally in Portugal, making the collection not only a testament to her artistic vision but also more environmentally conscious.

Among the highlights of the collection was a dress featuring a bold design with an image of a naked body, meant to be a lighthearted experiment. To Entrudo’s surprise, this piece resonated deeply with customers, marking it as a best-selling item. Reflecting on this unexpected success, she conveyed that spontaneity and humor play a crucial role in her work.

Addressing aspiring designers, Entrudo emphasized the importance of curiosity, experimentation, and authenticity in the journey to create meaningful fashion. When asked to summarize her brand, she described it succinctly: “Textured, bold, ironic.”

Overall, this collection reiterates Constança Entrudo’s signature blend of innovation, sustainability, and artistry, setting a notable benchmark for future endeavors within the realm of fashion design.
