The new collection celebrates alpine heritage and marks 30 years of the brand, featuring designs inspired by the spirit of South Tyrolean culture.

Luis Trenker’s Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection was unveiled with a captivating homage to the alpine heritage and cultural significance of Cortina d’Ampezzo, celebrating the brand’s 30th anniversary. Held under the theme “Cortina Alpine Bespoke,” the collection skillfully blends traditional alpine aesthetics with modern fashion, reflecting the spirit of the South Tyrolean mountaineer, director, and actor for whom the brand is named.

Set against the backdrop of the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which will take place in Cortina d’Ampezzo alongside Milan, the collection is both timely and fitting. Cortina is slated to host significant events including alpine skiing, curling, and bobsleigh competitions, reaffirming its status as a historic winter sports destination.

Cortina’s transformation from an Austro-Hungarian territory to Italian soil is a tale of resilience, marked by the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1920. Despite initial resistance from the local Ladin-speaking population, the region evolved into a celebrated hub for tourism and winter sports.

Luis Trenker’s influence on the region runs deep. His cinematic contributions, particularly the 1931 film “Berg in Flammen,” chronicled the area’s tumultuous past during World War I. Trenker was not only a filmmaker but an athlete who represented Italy at the 1924 Winter Olympics and held a lifelong passion for the mountains. His legacy is rooted in Cortina, where he also trained as a ski instructor in his youth.

The scenic allure of Cortina has long caught the attention of filmmakers, with Trenker’s works paving the way for later Hollywood productions such as “The Pink Panther” and the James Bond film “For Your Eyes Only,” which further associated the location with luxury and adventure. Over the years, Cortina has become synonymous with elite winter resorts, drawing comparisons to other prestigious ski destinations like St. Moritz.

The Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection embodies this rich tapestry of history and culture. The designs are interspersed with elements that reflect Trenker’s life and legacy—jackets reminiscent of classic ski instructor outfits, patterns echoing vintage ski advertisements, and the notable number 42, a tribute to Trenker’s competition bib.

For women, the collection unveils an array of elegant Norse-inspired velvet prints and damask patterns, while for men, the focus is on retro-inspired sportswear featuring smooth velvet jackets with 1930s ski poster motifs. The dynamic color palette—incorporating shades like greige, caramel, and powder pink for women, and gray and blue tones for men—merges vintage flair with contemporary tailoring.

Luis Trenker’s Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection stands not only as a fashion statement but as a narrative woven through time, connecting the historic significance of Cortina with the adventurous elegance that embodies the region. As the 2026 Winter Olympics approach, this collection resonates deeply with the past and present of this iconic locale.
